A Love Supreme
There are no words
To express that which
Is now and forever more

Thursday POETRY PROMPT
WRITE A "DREAM" POEM
I Wake Up Screaming
When my head falls
Off the pillow in bed
At night sometimes a
Battle begins in my sleep
With me, myself and I,
But only when my head is
Low like that I'm
In too deep, my dream
So real I scream

THURSDAY POETRY PROMPT
WRITE A "SOMETHING NEW" POEM
Romantic Implications
It all started in
Brooklyn, New York
Circa 1967 sitting in the
Lowe's Pitkin movie with
My girl, arm around her seat,
Hand on her right breast, fondling
New, unexplored teenage fantasies.
It was so thrilling and passionate when
She turned and softly French kissed
My trembling mouth.
007's You Only Live Twice
Never had a chance to be watched.

THURSDAY POETRY PROMPT
WRITE A "MOVIE INSPIRED" POEM
A Spike Lee Joint
It made me
Want to riot, strike back at
Society on my block, those
Who did not approve of
Famous Black faces hanging
On the wall of Sal's neighborhood
Pizza parlor.
Figures like Jackie Robinson,
Althea Gibson and Paul Laurence Dunbar,
Luminaries all.
But even so, even though they may
Concede eventually,
We still got to fight,
Fight the powers that be, and
Always Do The Right Thing.
But please don't,
Don't throw a garbage can
Through my shop window,
Me Black too.

GENERATING IDEAS for a poem
IDEAS are the building blocks of all good poetry writing. BEFORE you begin writing it is important to DEVELOP IDEAS to write about. To generate ideas for your poetry, BRAINSTORM.
Brainstorming is the unrestrained offering of thoughts in your head that want to be fully recognized.
THINK of all the possibilities...
